The best part about having a job is that we can afford weekly date nights. They are essential and in no way a waste of time or money. We're processing a lot of emotions and job information at a high rate -- kind of like drinking from a fire hydrant. It's important that we process these things together.
Some of our experiences can't be fully understood by the other. For example, I don't know what it's like to be a lawyer outside of what I'm told. DH doesn't know what it's like to lose 23 units of blood, except by observation. Regardless, we try. That is the work of real love.
