Great Park is a non-aviation reuse of the decommissioned Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. The City of Irvine bought nearly 30% of the property and turned it into a humongous park.
It turns out you can take just about anyone up the 400', including a newborn without his stroller! The kids showed no signs of acrophobia.
I followed the rule of looking out, not down, and was mostly okay.
Those sweet photographers gave me some tips. One said the glass is more important than the body -- among SLRs. That has been true for me. My prime lens produces significantly clearer images.
Riders could walk around the circle beneath the balloon. And yes, I could feel the balloon moving as people walked around.
These ones were bored, not scared.

We went for the global festival, which was pretty economical ($5 per person, $20 per family, 2 and under free. Thank you for not being 3 for two more days, Mr. Serious!).
Every food item was $3 at the Thai tent we patronized for lunch. The boba were boiled that morning and fresh and delicious. We sat and watched Hawaiian dancers; and I recalled my paternal grandma and all of her pictures and stories from Hawaii. She would be proud. :)
The carousel played popular Disney and other current music. Sweet Pea shouted, "This is Rapunzel!" when the Tangled song came on. It was a nice, long ride; and a dad with just one child helped me buckle mine. Also, someone gave me an extra entry ticket because she didn't need it. So, local people were being generous today!
