I'm always surprised at conversations that show they've never stopped learning.
"Mom, I feel sad." -Sweet Pea
"Why do you feel sad?"
"Because my brother was embarrassed."
"Well, empathy is a good thing. It's feeling how others feel. It's good to be empathy."
"Uh, mom. It's good to BE EMPATHY?!" -Firstborn
"No. It's good to HAVE empathy. It's good to BE empathetic."
"Yes. That was better."
"Thank you."
"I'm good at grammar. Well, English grammar."
(And in a hot minute everyone in my home will be smarter than I.)
