We've been sick for several weeks, but are all on the mend now. Because the weather called for freezing rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, we decided to leave late on Monday night. The optimal time for us driving with the boys has been 3:00am - 12:00 noon. They sleep half of the trip and wake up cheerfully with the sun rise. This time, they woke up to a snow storm in Pennsylvania.
It sounds like it was colder than average everywhere this Thanksgiving. Our hotel only had rooms with fireplaces available -- at no extra charge. We paid for our stay with our points. (Have I mentioned how much I love Marriott rewards?)
I was pretty sick the first day and went to the urgent care again to get better medicine, which stopped my uncontrollable night cough. Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt Roxane were super-helpful and watched the boys several times so that we could rest. (Thank you!) Isaac absolutely loves his relatives! He had a wonderful time and is still talking about everyone.
Grandpa and Grandma and the grandkids.
The chill second children:
We celebrated Christmas a little early as Rich's whole family was there. Someone may be a bit spoiled. As an aside, Isaac saw dad open a fish key chain present and said, "It's a museum fish." You know you've done a wonderful job as a parent when your child thinks that fish live in museums.
Andre wasn't quite sure what to make of the gifts, but he does have several that he likes to chase across the living room floor now. Mark was great about wiping off his drool. (Thank you!) Andre got his first tooth while we were in Michigan! This is almost four months earlier than Isaac.
Uncle Dave and Aunt Roxane had birthdays circa T-Day. Isaac got dangerously close to their cakes, but did not put his fingers in the frosting! (This is huge. I was impressed.)
Andre grew a bunch of red locks while we were there. I think they suit him well.
Somehow Aunt Roxane always manages to get her tree up, buy presents for everyone, and cook dozens of dishes for Thanksgiving ahead of time. Doesn't that corner look cozy?!
The Detroit/Green Bay game was disappointing. But, I'm glad that the Lions finally got a T-Day win.
We relaxed at Aunt Roxane's on Friday too. Isaac watched old James Bond movies with Grandpa.
...And snuck away with a bag of Chicken in a Biskit crackers. He enjoyed eating with the cats.
When we got back to our room, we made a fire, turned on Bing Crosby Christmas tunes,
and counted our blessing over the last year.
This year we are so thankful for our families, our faith, our boys, Rich's job, and the ability to travel. Every day is an adventure for us. We are so blessed!

Looks like you guys had a blast! :)
So happy for you! Thanks fo the pictures!
I'm glad you guys are finally feeling better! That trip looks like so much fun! :)
