We visited the park and colonial farm at Piscataway yesterday. It's a little underwhelming, but there are great views of Mt. Vernon to be had . . .
. . . and animals one can see up close.
This park has been on our list of local places to visit ever since Rich found it while looking at the map on his iPhone.
There are so many parks around metro DC that it would take a long time to see all of them. And, of course, there's a lot of variation in the quality and target audience. Here is this year's yield:
File this under "you get what you pay for." (It was free.) And we enjoyed seeing a sample of farm life in the colonial day (although Mt. Vernon offers the same and is much better managed). Overall, it was nice to spend some time outdoors with the boys and dad.
