Happy Easter!

Here are some beautiful flowers sent by WCM's parents for Easter. I never knew how nice hyacinth smelled until now. The flowers have bloomed, making our whole apartment smell like spring!

We've been trying new low-heat, light recipes for summer. WCM introduced me to a simple rubbed salt & pepper chicken - delicious! Tonight I tried "Summer Chicken Sauté with Tomato-Basil Sauce" and realized that the husband's not the biggest fan of capers.

We're also preparing for three weddings and a trip to California. Between our jobs and personal commitments, we don't have a free weekend until Memorial Day (though I work that day itself). Perhaps it's funny, but I did think that life would slow down a bit after the wedding - not so! We are learning to budget and prioritize and are feeling really grateful to be with each other. Life is so much better this way!

It's a Boy!

Here's another little photo of our bundle. Only this time, we know that he's a boy! Two radiology techs and the doctor showed the goods to us. For the most part we saw varying shades of gray as they were stopping the screen and measuring his legs, arms, abdomen, heart, etc. They said that he looks very healthy. He moved around a bit, made fists, and tried to grab his foot. He looks like he's enjoying life right now - can you blame him? We are naming him Isaac after St. Isaac Jogues, who has an inspiring story. It's really nice to be able to call him by his name now. We are so excited!

May the Pampering Continue...

Goodness, this is one of the best parts about being pregnant!:

This morning I woke up to the smell of fresh, HOMEMADE bread baking. When I came out, WCM was putting the finishing touches on a homemade sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. We LOVE Sunday breakfast and so he was making an extra special one today! He also did the dishes before I woke up (as we returned on Saturday night completely pooped).

I also received these a couple of weeks ago for no reason. They were a complete surprise and totally brightened my day. What a husband!!
