T-Shirts Don't Lie

She has been busying herself with mothering Mr. Serious, getting him up after nap time, feeding him, and bossing him around. She has had no accidents for me in a week and reminds me every day that she is a big girl. I can't wait to see what she does!

One must pose like this because it's "cool."

"May I take a picture of you after you take a picture of me, Mom?" So, now I have his perspective:

Potty Training: Round 3

Monday, August 20, 2018

Our girl has been a real champ over the last 3 days! I'm sure it helps that she's a girl. Already, she is motivated to make it to the pot on time, every time. I'm so proud and relieved!

(Also, DH helped me out like he did the previous two times, dedicating a weekend to this project. I'm so grateful for my husband!!!)

She is so proud of herself!

Michigan

DH snapped this great shot from his iPhone while in Michigan. After all my efforts to get amazing shots with my new camera, this might be the best capture of the trip! This kid loves to keep up with his big siblings; he is unstoppable.

Mr. Serious in Grandma's wildflower garden:

Unfortunately, I got sick at the end of the Wisconsin trip (like can't-stay-awake-, body-ache-, headache-, & feverish-sick). So, I spent my time in MI at the hotel sleeping and zoning out while the kids watched Netflix:

I'm sorry Michigan got the short end of the stick this time.

Minigolf + Other Photos By Family

Grandma and the WI aunties were super helpful and watched our kids all day Wednesday (and here and there throughout the week). We have some nice pics from them.

Sweet Pea and Avila playing minigolf:

The Firstborn told me, "I was super helpful and held the baby so Aunt Theresa could take her turn."

My youngest sister (16 years old) offered to clean our minivan, a tremendous charity considering its state! Of course I accepted. It was so nice to start the return with a clean vehicle!!!

Generations of strong women:

When we first arrived at my parents', Sweet Pea screamed, "LOOK! A PLAYGROUND!!!" and played for an hour.

Another stop with a playground:

Mud Cake

Monday, August 13, 2018

This is a kid cake and candle for my imaginary birthday. Otherwise entitled: Boy Life. (Though Sweet Pea was also covered in mud.) ((Also, DH put the kids up to it to make me smile because I was feeling melancholic after being sick for 10 days. I love him!))

All the People

DH told me to get a picture of "all the people" on our last night in Wisconsin. To be fair, I couldn't fit everyone into the same frame, but here are a few of the 23 people (except a couple of sleeping babies) at my folks' home last week.

The former Army medic describes the intubation procedure.

Sweet Pea-ism

"I fwee. What's your numbers?"

She tells this to (and asks this of) random people. She remembers that mom and dad have more than one digit to their ages and always pluralizes "number." She is brilliant in her naivete. I love that she's not afraid to ask questions and learn! ❤

Devil's Lake

One of our favorite WI traditions is visiting Devil's Lake. The boys did not want to leave when it was time to go. They love this place!

(These two were very much in need of lunch here.)

She tried to help him adjust his puddle jumper -- such a good little caretaker! ❤
