He asked for a trip to Disney and Legos and nerf guns. At first, he was concerned that he was asking for too much. I told him he should ask for what he wants. Thank you, Pop Pop for helping pay for all this stuff!

“Mom, does this cake look bad? [The Engineer] said it looks terrible.”

[Long Pause.]

“Okay. It does look bad.”

“Well, it’s only your first; and you have lots of time to get good at it!”

So, use your imagination to see a fighter jet:

These two went together.

“The continual crosses to which he subjects you, giving you not merely the necessary strength, but superabundant strength to bear them meritoriously, are most certain and singular signs of his deep love for you. Believe me, the strength he gives you does not remain sterile in you; I assure you of this in God’s name and you must listen to me in all humility and rid yourself of any sentiment to the contrary.”

Double-dipping:

This boy has been ready early every day since school began. Yesterday, he told me, "I'm so happy that I make you happy, Mom." Everyone needs a kid like that!

Exercise: I often stop here after a workout. It's been challenging to keep up with exercise; but I've recently tried to reframe my thoughts about it. It's beneficial for my mood, which helps my family and my colleagues. In fact, when I don't workout in the morning, I get pretty high anxiety by 8am. So, I'm trying to think about it as a charity to others.

Humor is totally carrying us!

I recently found and declined a hanging armoire because we are desperately in need of more closet space:

Finally, I had to take a CPR class; and this awesomeness was the best part about it. Apparently, if your victim's chest is too hairy, it needs to be shaved before you attached the AED. #Winning.
