I scheduled this not realizing it was Ash Wednesday. They took extra long. So he missed the ash distribution at school; but he looks like a new man:
They had him write us a thank you note and put it in the mail.
They also gave him a chocolate, a balloon, and a $10 Amazon gift card. And they sang to him.
Intent on Driving

Who doesn’t like to be in the driver’s seat? Sol made a break for it the moment he was set down in the van. He’s speedy and determined. Not much of a baby anymore…
Also notice how he and the Fifth both answer “Yes!” below. He is our first child to say “yes” before “no.”

Referenced in a recent homily, we showed him this ridiculous commercial. This was his response:

Valentine’s Day
Tuesday, February 14, 2023

We've decided to have a good Valentine's Day every year going forward.
We stayed at the Ritz at Salt Creek Beach. Upon arrival, there were about fifteen attendants, each smiling and asking to help us with things. We were given flutes of champagne and asked if we would like an "amenity." I asked if they charge for the amenity. When they said, "no," we said, "yes, please!" This is what they brought:
Our room was upgraded to a "partial ocean view," which was really a full ocean view. There isn't a bad view to be had on this piece of property! [We are hooked on the Marriott rewards program.]
This is my, "I don't get out much" smile:
The food was amazing.
This was our only "easy Sunday morning" since we've become parents. We went to the 12:30pm Mass with the kids after we returned:
We were able to do this only because we have a sitter we trust overnight. She was amazing:
When the Kids Dry Cough Before School

And it turns out they aren’t sick at all — just great at working the Covid system.
Also, our rental Chrysler Pacifica has a sunroof and is now my favorite vehicle ever:
