This was the largest fair I've attended (and my only state fair). There were horticulture gardens, prized animal tents, butter making for kids, cow milking for kids (we didn't), heritage walks, two rides sections including one for only small kids, stunt shows, tons of food, and so much more!
It was super clean; and there were sufficient restrooms. One of the indoor exhibits had a bunch of Lego sets discounted, including some retired ones (those were expensive).
This was a harvester.
We split two elephant ears five ways because we are a big family. The big boys were very generous!
Sweet Pea was angry that her first piece was hot. So she threw it on the ground and cast her angry eyebrows at everyone. We'll give her a pass because she's only 3.
These things were amazing!
Craft root beer stand. I really enjoy how commercial food has improved in the last 3 decades.
My shrinking violet.
She is mostly sweet and affectionate.
We were able to get the toddlers to watch while the big boys went on 3 rides.
This looks way more dangerous that it actually was. They tell me the bar was to make the elephant increase/decrease in altitude.
Who can keep up with this one's shenanigans?!?
Trying to disturb the goldfish. I put away the camera and moved him right after this shot.
Each of the cow breeds on display had calves in their stalls. Each set was perfect -- like straight out of Leviticus perfect.
We bought a super-overpriced bottomless craft root beer knowing we wouldn't refill it because it was the shortest line and everyone was getting cranky.
This was a nap worthy of a state fair! He didn't wake up during the half-mile, bumpy walk back to our car. He made all the adults we passed smile and laugh. The best ice breakers in the world are these kids right here!
She is super agreeable about activities, especially movies or adventures. She will do whatever her big brothers choose as long as she can do it too! Here, she was happy that the brothers agreed on "An American Tale: Fievel Goes West."
This is how tired everyone was:
