Aunt Monica Visit

Saturday, February 29, 2020

We enjoyed five days with Aunt Monica. Here she is at Treasure Island -- her first visit to the Pacific Ocean.

Mr. Serious expressed his disapproval of photos.

He was happy playing on the "sand beach" with his beautiful auntie.

We visited Griffith Park and Griffith Observatory, which is where Google says the best view of the Hollywood sign is.

There is a tremendous view of Los Angeles and the ocean as well. This day was one of the few cloudy/sunny days we'd had in a while. The temp highs were amazing (80's) for her entire visit.

The baby continued to bring joy to everyone's heart. <3

Santa Monica was an obvious must-see for her.

She was kind enough to deal with my photo shoots.

Of course, we stopped by 180Blu to see the wonderful Dana Point sunset.

There is always someone reminding us that nothing is perfect.

It was still lovely.

Her last day was Mardi Gras. So, we felt justified in consuming these Shake Shack milkshakes at Crystal Cove. It was gloriously sunny/cloudy again and not crowded at all. We had a great morning!

We walked down to the beach and just enjoyed the sound of the waves and the sunshine.

Last hot dog until after Easter.

Come visit us soon! Our guest room is empty.

Ash Wednesday / Six Months of Supersonic

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

He's at 9-month-level in terms of physical milestones. The doctor doesn't care if he crawls as long as he's getting from one point to another. (When did that change?!) Other things that changed since Mr. Serious was a baby:
1. Car seats must be rear-facing for two years (not just recommended) and 2. No rice-cereal because of higher trace amounts of anthrax...

He is so hungry that we can't seem to get enough food in him. We are supplementing with formula. He doesn't care for his iron-fortified, single grain cereal; but we will offer all the foods in the next 3 months. He is our little love!

Stats:
Height: 26.5", 36th%
Weight: 15 lbs., 6th%

Pop Pop Visit

Wednesday, February 19, 2020

We had a lovely visit with Pop Pop. He stayed with us just shy of two weeks. He helped with many things, including taking the kids to and from school, participating in the school's STEAM night, helping with homework, and fixing many things around the house.

We took him out to 180Blu at the Ritz Laguna Niguel.

He spotted this hummingbird, who was out a dusk surprisingly...

 We saw these interesting plants:

He installed the removable whirligig duck, which we will have at all of our (non-condo) residences.

Here are some of the other things he fixed: gate locks, peeling cabinet laminate, and the plug for the kids' night light/noisemaker.

We are so glad he visited and are already looking forward to his next trip!
