"You have a lot of energy and you're really smart and you like to take care of people."

(We have dozens of little sweet moments like this mixed in with the crazy chaos of every day. Thankfully, Christmas break has given us an opportunity to sit and appreciate our kids.)
*"Why" means "how" most of the time.

We took a two day trip to NYC on DH's hotel points, our Christmas gift to ourselves. We stayed at the Essex House and spent our best time in Central Park, though we also went through Times Square (and ate pizza at John's), the Rockefeller Plaza, and the Columbus Circle Christmas Market.
We saved the Statue of Liberty and other historic spots to the south for another trip. The kids had a blast at the amazing playgrounds in Central Park. We could have spent our entire time there and in the hotel. (Thanks for the Christmas check, which we used for meals out on the trip!) Everyone had a fantastic time!

That's easy. I enjoy discovering new things, especially textures and foods. Anything that I can really get my hands into brings me a thrill. I choose advantageous times to begin my discoveries, like just after mom starts feeding the baby. I think I'm pretty good at timing, actually. Mom calls it "stealth." She must secretly enjoy my exploring because she's always taking pictures of my work. If you look closely, you can see how I spared no part of my person, including my hair and toes. Mom spent a good 20 minutes scrubbing and saying things like "the third time today." I can't be certain as I wasn't listening closely. No doubt, my artwork won't be fully discovered for a week or so. Great artists are never appreciated in their time.

One of these days we will get a huge smile from this face. He seems to be awake and seeing things for the first time now. He's such a cutie! I am still holding out for a second good-sleeper. So far, his best two nights were 8 hours and 6 hours long. Most nights, he sleeps for 4-5 followed by 3. He is growing well.
