Gala - DH Is Much Cooler Than I

My sign is facing the wrong direction. But this was a lovely event with my brother and SIL. Generous, new friends bought a table and invited us. We'd previously decided we wouldn't spend the money this year and had peace with that decision. But we accepted the invitation. Then we almost had to cancel due to children being sick. But the Lord wanted us there because He opened all the doors and healed the kids with 30 hours to spare. Attending the event was encouraging -- and so much better than last year when I had just left my first job back in the workforce. I'm much better situated professionally and have been at my current job more than twice as long. I've already been promoted, thanks be to God! I'm more confident. Talking with others, including diocesan priests and religious and parents, all of the same mind, is very encouraging to me. We are working in solidarity. No one's role is easy. Each is important. And DH and I both have the peace that comes with being exactly where we're supposed to be.

This was a close game in which the Lions won by a field goal in the last second. “Except for one punt return, they didn’t have much of a running game. It was all passing,” the Eldest said, summarizing his first NFL game. “Defense was optional,” DH added. Like father, like son.
