This was given to me after I took him to the barber shop and grocery store and bought him a protein bar and chocolate bar -- just the two of us. I like that he tries to sound out words and doesn't let perfectionism stop him. <3

We are bigger fans of home insurance companies than we once were! All of this is the result of a sudden dishwasher leak, which flooded through the basement ceiling. (Don't worry! Everything is completely dry now.) Because our basement walls and ceilings were all one color, the insurance company covered the cost of repainting everything. Because the basement and stairs are one continuous room, they covered the cost of repainting the stairwell and stairwell ceiling too. I'm very pleased and appreciative!

"Through the blur, I wondered if I was alone or if other parents felt the same way I did — that everything involving our children was painful in some way. The emotions, whether they were joy, sorrow, love or pride, were so deep and sharp that in the end they left you raw, exposed and yes, in pain. The human heart was not designed to beat outside the human body and yet, each child represented just that — a parent's heart bared, beating forever outside its chest."

My family was far too kind to me on Mother's Day this year, thanks to Dear Husband. Look at what I woke up to:

| French toast, sausage, maple syrup, and frothy latte deliciousness! |
He bought me a frother, which I use every single day!
The baseball suite was available. So, we spent time together (with several other families and their kids) doing something different and new (for some of them). Our kids LOVED the experience and lasted through a record five innings! :)
Between the parking and food, it still wasn't cheap; but was a memory-making experience that's priceless. They are still talking about it. The delicious popcorn. The hot dogs. The soda.
The weather could not have been better! This was a snapshot moment. Everyone was happy and peaceful and grateful. Thinking about this day makes me smile.
Our preschool had a mother's day luncheon too. I got to observe this one in his classroom and received a bunch of handmade gifts from him.
It's interesting to see how each child has a personality by age 5. My child had the most energy hands-down. A boy across the table handed his mom a perfectly colored picture with all of the colors in the lines. I did not know that was possible at age 5!
This one cracked me up because the teacher was obviously not any better than I at taking a clear image of him because he's constantly in motion. But that's part of what makes this photo awesome too.
Looking back over the last 5 years of parenting, I see so much change in myself that I almost don't remember who I was before. It's strange and peaceful at the same time. I cannot imagine my life without these four precious people!
Happy Mother's Day to all!
Solidarity, Bro.

This one insisted on wearing a helmet around town today. She brought it to me and said, "Put on!" I asked if she wanted it removed a few times. She just said "nope."
