The Fifth Turns Four

Wednesday, August 30, 2023

This child is “very articulate,” as social as can be, and will heal from all injustices with a small dose of attention.

He was made for big family life.

He is thrilled to be in school full time. He looks forward to going every day. Each day when I return from work, he runs to the door and says, “Mommy! You’re home!”

He asks to go out all the time. He wants to be in the center of activity. We get such a kick out of him. We love him so much!

This is what a “tackle” is supposed to look like in flag football:

Grandma cautiously sits on the other end of the bench while the Firstborn processes his disappointment.

We spent time at the beaches and the pool because it was HOT. This Salt Creek Beach:

My favorite Italian place:

We also had an early birthday celebration for F-5.

Aunt Maria made beautiful laminated book marks for us with flowers that reminded her of DH and me.

Also, we had a very rare night away when we truly had no worries about the sitter being okay.

Family is everything. Our doors are open to all!

I salvaged a video from DH’s phone that shows the Engineer playing well. He started sheepishly but really did well by the end! He’s playing goalie.
