Christus Vivit!

Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her,

ablaze with light from her eternal King,
let all corners of the earth be glad,
knowing an end to gloom and darkness.
Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice,
arrayed with the lightning of his glory,
let this holy building shake with joy,
filled with the mighty voices of the peoples.

Our Love Bug

Saturday, March 30, 2024

He snuck out with the scissors while I had Sol in my lap catching up on The Chosen and returned in a hot minute with this heart. “I made this for you, Mommy! I love you!” I don’t deserve this kid.

Barber Louie

Thursday, March 28, 2024

This is our third attempt to replace Louie. He sold his shop and retired at 86. This latest new place charges the same price but has several stylists of quite varying skill. The Fourth’s cut was much better than the Firstborn’s; but the former’s was much older and more experienced. Regardless, he cleans up well.

Awards Ceremony

Sunday, March 24, 2024

I love the way our principal is looking at the Firstborn here. Nothing makes me happier than knowing our kids are well-liked. Awards are given in grades 5-8 at our school. The Firstborn dramatically improved this trimester and received "most improved" in his class, which is considered the highest honor. We are very proud of him!

It is such a feat for 12-year-old boys:

He has a lot in common with our pastor: firstborn, tall in an average-sized family, desire to be a pilot and/or a priest ... strict mother, haha.

He earned 2nd honors and is determined to make 1st honors next trimester.

Basketball:

I hope we can make it through the next 12 years of these with the same enthusiasm.

St. Joseph + Random

Tuesday, March 19, 2024

This one got a haircut for his name day. Here he is creeping closer to me while I work. So many times I’ve thought that I’ll miss this when they’re grown. I saw a newborn on Saturday and almost started sobbing. Because I’m emotionally stable.

The weather was perfect; and I took lunch here:

Went to a new, super cute coffee shop at DH’s suggestion.

One of the many things I’ve asked DH for an explanation for:

Enjoying brunch while I finish Civil Lit I.

My sweet girl asked me follow up questions about the blood thing. I have only once chance to get this right. DH has already lapped me twice.

Taken for my children:

Any chance for a photo OP.

The Fifth came home from school with this. I love how the lives of the saints inspire our kids every day!

They would be lost without me there remembering their birthdays:
