Thirty-Six

This year went by incredibly quickly! It feels like an unimportant year; but I'm really glad to have another one with my family! :) Mom was in town this year. I spent the day with her.
DH bought me a bigger camera. It has a larger lens while still being slightly smaller than a DSLR. The shutter releases much faster, reducing my frustration. :)
Forgive the background mess. This was the end of a workweek day. The kids are really good at blowing out candles. These were trick. So, they got closer to give more effective blows. Haha.
Birth order in a picture:
One cannot decide. So we sampled several:
My treasures! They decorated the home and shopped for presents with DH. They are far too good to me!
I got to spend the day with my mom, which is something that hasn't happened in years! It was really nice. The babies were sick. So, we stayed close to home.
Mom sat while DH & I dined at Old Ebbit Grill. I'm very glad we had reservations because it was super crowded at 6pm.
The calamari were excellent -- a little spice in the breading.
I love this one. <3
Kid Conversations
Monday, June 25, 2018
On the car ride home:
#1: "Mom, #2 unbuckled my seatbelt!" he shouting from the back row.
Mom: "Ok. He will go to bed for 5 minutes as soon as we get home while everyone else eats their happy meals."
[Whispers in the back row.]
#1, no longer shouting, "Mom, #2 was actually clicking the seatbelt next to mine like this and pretending to unbuckle mine."
#2 with a MASSIVE grin in my rearview mirror, "I wike to be tricky."
Schools Out for Summer!
Thursday, June 21, 2018
I've had an epiphany: summer is the best time to be a stay-at-home-mom! I've realized suddenly that I have only 10 years left of "summer vacation" with all our kids. So, here is what we do in the morning instead of getting dressed and "adulting":
It's impossible to get a clear shot of this activity. My shutter releases so flipping slowly...
This one tips over all the chairs. I put them up again. He tips them over again. It's a great way to pass the time.
We snack outside and let the squirrels clean up after us. There are about 20 right now. New litter.
We climb and explore.
We run and get new projects when they pop into our minds.
We wonder.
There are so many healthy activities to do during the summer. I love watching my kids think, explore, ask questions, and learn.

"One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters." -George Herbert
Happy Father's Day to all our dads! We love you so much!!!
DH wanted to visit Assateague, which was beautiful on Sunday!
"This was the best day of my life!" The Firstborn told us several times.
We saw several horses.
