Mr. Serious's Christening

Sunday, October 30, 2016

"... no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit."
-John 3:5

We were so grateful to have two school friends (and a spouse and children) travel to stand in as our new boy's godparents.

We survived another nap-time christening! :)

Sweet Pea and Mr. Agreeable

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Sweet Pea has been hard to capture because she doesn't hold still these days. She has launched herself into "toddler mode" but is still very much taken with her baby brother. She asks to come up and sit next to him whenever we hold him and smiles at him and shouts "Baby!" She gives lots of hugs.

So far the baby has been much more laid back than he appeared in his crazy, 20 week sonogram. He seems to like a schedule and has 2 fussy times a day. If we time it right, he will sleep in 3 hour increments at night. Hurray for REM sleep!

For the first time ever, DH has taken 2 weeks "off'." He's only had a few hours of work so far! Regardless, its been a boon! I'm incredibly grateful and very much enjoying these healing weeks.

He Is Here!

Friday, October 14, 2016

Our sweet boy is here! He arrived on Friday, October 14th at 9:39am, weighing 6lbs., 12.3oz. and measuring 19.5 in. with a 14in. head!

His delivery was timely and beautiful. The joy that lifts in the operating room when everyone hears that "newborn cry" is really special. Expressions immediately turn to smiles.

He peed immediately upon exiting, which is apparently normal.

Our day began at 5am:

Random Phone Photos

Some of these go back a month.

Sweet Pea in her happy place (ankles crossed); Brother is learning new words every day.

One of many attempts to get all 3 smiling:

This was the end of a rare, still moment:

So many emotions from this one lately:

Super sweet moment finally captured. She loves this bear:

Pediatric dentists are amazing. (Notice how they're both petite with super small hands.) We had to deal with a few between molar cavities. I was amazed at all of their gentle words and phrases like "Now we're going to brush those sugar bugs off" as I hear them firing up the drill. Amazing. How did I miss out on this as a kid?! This child was surprisingly calm:

This one has been my morning buddy. He continues to be the first one out of bed. Lately, he's been coming into my room and hanging out while the others wake up:

The boys pretend to be fat, which they think is super cool, thanks to Weird Al and DH:
I was able to take this one on a little date after his dentist appointment. We get so little one-on-one time. He was thrilled and kept saying, "Mom, I'm glad it's just me and you! Mom, I'm glad that you took me out!" I wish I could do it more.

He was thrilled to receive a huge, ORANGE tooth brush. No x-rays yet for him. So we will see if he inherited the good teeth gene. Regardless, we've renewed our teeth-brushing and flossing efforts:
