The kids are having a fantastic time with their auntie! I actually remembered to take photos because she was watching all of them at the same time. (Yes, we are at the # of children some sitters "are not comfortable" sitting.) Yay for family!
Little People, Big Personalities!

"Please cut up my chicken with a knife and DO NOT PUT IT IN THE BARBEQUE SAUCE!!!" he asked, body shaking with emphasis. Our new school boy is very particular.
"Mom, can we get some special treats from McDon-aws? I want TWO hash browns. No. Four hash browns! Wots of hash browns!"
The two youngest woke up and screamed for 2 hours at night, 2 nights in a row and neither were puking or running fevers. When one would finally stop screaming, the other would start again. It's as though each was trying to outdo the other. Being a little diva is so exhausting!
Ripping Things, Our Favorite!

A couple of people in our home really enjoy wallpaper removal . . .
"We are helping, Mom! Look at this pile we made!"

Things look so much more interesting from down here.
Our Little Engineer
Tuesday, February 16, 2016
This one spends a lot of time pulling things out and putting them in order. I often find these "tidy" messes around the house, strategically placed in the middle of the hallway or somewhere I'll be sure to see them. He'll disappear for a half hour and then reappear with some sort of engineered structure as well.

More Snow, Freezing Rain, Sheets of Ice
It's supposed to be warm the rest of this week, but right now we have a pile of slush. I'm so glad we have a sump pump!
Anyway, the boys are still discussing all things Lent. Here's a conversation from earlier this week:
Anyway, the boys are still discussing all things Lent. Here's a conversation from earlier this week:
The Little Engineer: "You are dust."
The Eldest: "No. I do NOT like being called 'dust.'"
Engineer: "You are dust."
And here are a couple of videos I forgot to post from Storm Jonas. We had an inordinate amount of snow!:
Blondies

I've been meaning to do this for a while! We've discovered too many head scabs and junk stuck in hair. Though I largely prefer longer hair on top, it's just not sanitary right now. That's the same reason I keep my nails short, though they arguably look better longer. There's simply too much bacterial around here; and we need to eliminate the sources.
We received a couple of compliments while out last week. One great-grandpa told me the children were precious at the gym. Another guy complimented their behavior at Dunkin Donuts, which meant a lot because he was trying to read the paper and drink his coffee in peace right next to us.
We Made It!

It is so hard to get to church during the week. However, the boys are at ages where they really appreciated symbols -- like ashes. Our pastor pressed a nice, huge cross onto the Eldest's forehead.
Our Little Engineer also received ashes, which faded quickly. The boys compared theirs in the cry room. "My ashes are darker than your ashes." I was determined to start Lent off right and woke up at 5:45, showered, dried my hair, applied make up and loaded the kids in the car for 6:30am Mass (the only time we could go). When we got to the church, I realized that I'd forgotten everyone's coats and had a gigantic snarl in my hair. So many opportunities for humility these days!
